Freytag Trio
Germany
The Freytag Trio was officially founded in 2020 and consists of the three siblings Helene (2005), Wilhelmine (2007) und Albrecht Freytag (2010) from Leipzig. Initially, the trio received private lessons from Prof. Boris Kusnezov before being accepted into his chamber music class at the Pre-College Institute of the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy University of Music and Theater Leipzig in winter semester of 2023. Further inspiration they received from Prof. Natalia Prishepenko and Prof. Marc Bouchkov, among others.
In 2021 the Freytag Trio was awarded with the Young Talent Award sponsored by Holger Koppe Foundation. The following year, they emerged as first prize winners with top scores in the German National Competition „JugendMusiziert“. In this context, they were also awarded the Sparkasse Spezial Prize for the best family ensemble, as well as the WDR3 Classical Music Award.
The siblings have already performed together at the Mendelssohnhaus Leipzig, the Leipzig City Hall and in the "Marler Debüt" concert series. Furthermore, the trio has enjoyed radio broadcasts on WDR and NDR.
