The name of Rodolphe Kreutzer is well known to every violinist in all parts of the world. Violinist virtuoso, composer, conductor and professor at the renowned Paris Conservatory, Kreutzer was a co-founder of the famous French violin school. His “42 violin studies or caprices” became an indispensable part of the repertoire of young violinists. Rodolphe Kreutzer’s natural talent was highly appreciated by many outstanding musicians of his time. Ludwig van Beethoven, for instance, dedicated to him his famous Violin Sonata no.9. which later became known as the "Kreutzer" Sonata.
